Through a series of studies, a team of astronomers has gained new insights into the fascinating and complex process of planet formation. The impressive images, taken with the European Southern Observatory's (ESO) Very Large Telescope (VLT) in Chile, represent one of the largest surveys of planet-forming disks ever conducted. The survey combines observations of more than 80 young stars around which planets may have formed, providing the astronomical community with a wealth of data and unique insights into the formation of planets in different regions of our galaxy.
