Aurora Borealis over Wendelstein Observatory

Due to the sun's recent strong activity, beautiful polar lights were visible over Europe. They were especially bright at Wendelstein Observatory.

Currently the sun is very active, which has resulted in strong polar lights, visible towards relatively low latitudes.
It was also visible at the Wendelstein Observatory Site as seen in these pictures made by our current observer on site with a smartphone camera.
