Data science

Harnessing data science techniques to advance our research through machine learning, advanced data processing and visualization.

Computation and data science are an important part of our research. We use numerical full-wave electromagnetic simulations to accurately calculate the far-field optical response and near-field properties of our metasurfaces. We use custom code (mostly in Python) to implement theoretical models, process both numerical and experimental data, and to visualize the results. Going beyond simple data processing, we utilize machine learning to extract physical and biochemical information from complex and noisy datasets. Finally, we are interested in implementing AI-driven inverse design approaches to obtain metasurfaces with optimal performance.
