Welcome
At the Chair of Quantum Information Theory, led by Prof. Dr. Michael Walter, we aim to understand how the two greatest scientific revolutions of the past century – quantum physics and computer science – fit together and can advance the current century. Our research contributes to the theoretical foundations of quantum information science, providing foundations for emerging technologies such as quantum computers and secure quantum networks, and it also suggests new perspectives and innovative approaches to interdisciplinary problems across mathematics, physics, and computer science. Alongside the Walter group, the chair hosts the independent research group Quantum Simulation and Quantum Many-Body Dynamics by Prof. Dr. Jad Halimeh.
