Winter Semester 2026/27

  • The main exams for the compulsory lectures will take place between 8 February 2027 and 19 February 2027.
  • The retake exams for the compulsory lectures will take place between 2 March 2027 and 25 March 2027.

The exact dates will be announced in advance in the LSF course catalogue.

To take part in courses and module examinations at the Faculty of Physics in the 2026/27 winter semester, two registration steps are required:

Step 1: Course registration
(Registration period: 21 September 2026 to 5 October 2026):

All students must register via the LSF Course Catalogue. To do this, go to the courses you wish to take in the Course Catalogue and click on the ‘register/cancel’ button.

Note: It is not possible to enrol on courses using the ‘Register for courses’ function. If LSF registration is not required for individual courses, this will be noted in LSF for that course.

Step 2: Registration for module examinations
(Registration period: 1 January 2027 to 31 January 2027):

Students who started their studies in the 2023/24 winter semester or later must register for module examinations via the LSF function ‘Register for exams’. This applies not only to examinations as part of lectures, but also to examinations for seminars (even if you have already given your presentation by the time you register for the exam), key qualifications, lab courses, etc. Exam registration is also required if a course takes place as a block course at the end or beginning of the semester.

This exam registration also serves as registration for the retake exam, if you wish to take it because you failed or did not take the main exam. It is not possible to register for the retake exam at a later date.

Students for whom the ‘Register for exams’ function is not available (this applies in particular to students who began their studies before the 2023/24 winter semester and to Erasmus students) must register for the exam with the relevant lecturers.

Detailed instructions on course and exam registration in LSF can be found in the following documents:
