In order to expand the research network on artificial intelligence in Bavaria, 100 new AI chairs were established across the state. The new Bavarian AI chairs at LMU are Chris Donkin, PhD (Cognitive Psychology), Prof. Dr. Stefan Feuerriegel (AI in Management), Prof. Dr. Daniel Gruen (Astrophysics, Cosmology and AI), Prof. Dr. Eyke Hüllermeier (AI and Machine Learning), Prof. James Kirby, PhD (Spoken Language Processing), Prof. Dr. Gitta Kutyniok (Mathematical Foundations of AI), Prof. Dr. Björn Ommer (Machine Vision and Learning Group), and Prof. Dr. Barbara Plank (AI and Computational Linguistics). The newly appointed chairs will introduce themselves and their various research approaches at this symposium.A panel, moderated by the sociologist and statistician Prof. Dr. Frauke Kreuter (Statistics and Data Science in Social Sciences and the Humanities), will then discuss the next generation of AI research from the different disciplinary perspectives.
